No. ComfyUI is the execution backend, but the studio adds a flow engine with thirteen reusable step types, a workflow analyser that reads graphs it has never seen, quantisation selection driven by workflow metadata, subgraph reconstruction, LoRA chain injection, a style and template library, sessions and depots, an add-on system, and an MCP server. Those are the parts that took the work.

The website catalogue lists every flow, including the ones that come with optional paid packs, so it is not the same as what the free download includes. The flows you see in your own studio depend on the packs you have installed.

No. Most flows never call one. LM Studio is only needed for prompt assistance, chat flows, image description and style extraction — and even there, the AI output is always shown to you as editable text before anything is generated.

Yes, and this is the intended use. Import a ComfyUI graph and the analyser detects the prompt nodes, samplers, seed, latents, loaders and LoRA slots, then builds a parameter panel around it. Imported workflows behave like built-in flows, including custom logos and persisted field values.

It is caught before the run, not during it. The studio checks the files a workflow needs across every candidate folder, skips any quantisation tier whose weights are absent, and offers to download what is missing from the import screen.

The examples on this site use an NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti with 16 GB VRAM. Memory requirements depend on the model, precision and resolution. Check each workflow against your ComfyUI setup; browser access alone does not establish GPU compatibility on macOS or other systems.

Local workflows can run offline after their models and dependencies are installed. Model downloads, CivitAI lookups and external assistants require a connection when used.

To an output folder you choose in Settings, as PNGs with their metadata intact. The registry that tracks styles, depots, sessions, profiles and template packs is JSON with atomic .bak copies. Nothing is locked in a proprietary container.

Yes. Profiles are picked at launch and can be protected by a four-digit PIN, each with its own history, depots and sessions. There is also a Vanish mode — a private profile whose generations pass through temporary memory and never reach disk.

With ComfyUI and LM Studio running locally, generation and prompt assistance stay on your machine. If you connect an external assistant or service, the data shared through that integration depends on its configuration and provider.

The studio imposes none of its own; what a model will produce is a property of the model you chose to install. You are responsible for using it lawfully and for respecting the licences of the weights you run.

Yes, and several already do: Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Antigravity and Bionic all connect. The built-in MCP server talks over stdio to any MCP client. Each agent gets its own viewer identity and album, remembers your aspect ratio and speed preferences across a conversation, and asks rather than guesses when a preference is unknown.
